1971 World Singles Champion
Bengtsson became the first Swedish world champion in 1971 in Nagoya, Japan winning men's singles. He won the men's doubles in 1973 as well as helping Sweden win the team title. He was European singles champion in 1972, doubles champion in 1976 and won five team titles.
